Are you ready? |
As you may know, D-Day for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) is 1 June 2007. With effect from this date, and in accordance with the EU Directive for the Energy Performance of Buildings, all residential properties offered for sale in England and Wales will require an EPC.
An EPC is a mandatory component of the Home Information Pack (HIP), and records in a clear format the energy efficiency of a property and its impact on the environment. Ratings are shown on an A to a G scale, as illustrated below.

Energy Performance Certificates
The certificate lists cost effective measures for improvement which, if acted upon, will reduce a property’s running costs and its carbon footprint.
The EPC also provides contact details for The Energy Savings Trust, who can offer help and advice on available government grants for energy efficient home improvements.
The Department of Communities and Local Government has stated that EPCs can only be produced by approved individuals; Matrix’s team of qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessors and Home Inspectors will be able to undertake inspections and process certificates as an additional service to Matrix’s client base.
As you would expect, our EPC service will be competitive within the marketplace with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the Home Condition Report (HCR), whilst not a mandatory element of the HIP, can also be arranged with Matrix via our associated surveyors, Hamilton Hallows.
